Initializing a new simulation with an old solution

Introduction

When running many cases with similar geometries, the number of iterations to convergence can be reduced by using a previous solution as an initial condition for the new geometry.  ADS-FCOOL allows a user to map a new mesh onto an old solution as long as the mesh counts and topology remain consistent between the cases.

Procedure

Mapping a new mesh onto an old solution can be done using ADS-FCOOL ICHOICE option 13.  The first restart file listed should be the old geometry which already contains the solution that will be used as an initial condition and the second restart file should contain that new geometry to be simulated.  The two meshes must have the same I,J,K mesh counts as well as identical topologies.
